FOUNDERS STORY

Paul & Shantel Patu have been serving children, youth & families in Seattle's urban communities for over 18 years.

A product of their environment the Patu's know all to well about the struggle of growing up in an impoverished urban community.
They both grew up in the Rainier Valley and High Point, two of the poorest communities in the City of Seattle.

Equally important they have also found meaning in their struggle and moments of beauty in their life experiences.  Both have shaped their heart & passion to work with youth & families.

As a former gang member and drug dealer Paul has had several run ins with the law and brushes with death.  One in particular changed his life forever.  On April 29th 1995 at about 12pm in the afternoon, Paul was shot five times in an attempted car jacking in West Seattle.  Shot at point blank range with a 45 caliber gun, Paul was hit in both arms, chest, stomach and leg.  Struggling to survive Paul remembers taking his last breath before the darkness over took him.  "My last thought was of my family and never being able to see them again".

Under Construction, Sorry.
